Guarantee, Repairs and Return Policy

 INTRODUCTION

At Steelcraft, we value our customers and strive to provide you with the best possible shopping experience. We understand that there may be instances where you need to return a product, and we have created this policy to facilitate such situations. This policy applies to all our customers in South Africa, and it does not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Protection Act. Please take a moment to familiarise yourself with our guarantee, repair, and returns policy. This policy is effective from 1st March 2011 and may be subject to occasional modifications or cancellations. In such cases, we will not be liable for any damages resulting from these changes.

 30-DAY EXCHANGE OR REFUND POLICY

If you wish to return a product for a refund or exchange, you are entitled to do so under the following conditions:

  1. The returned product is received by Steelcraft within 30 days from the date of purchase or receipt.
  2. The product is accompanied by a valid receipt indicating the product, place, and date of purchase.
  3. The product is unused, in its original unopened packaging, with any seals intact, and in a condition that allows us to resell it as new.
  4. You comply with the returns procedure outlined in this policy.
  5. The product is not subject to any exclusions mentioned in this document.

 QUALITY GUARANTEE

We stand behind the quality of our products and want you to be satisfied with your purchase. In the event that a product does not meet the required quality standards within 6 months from the date of purchase, you may return the product for the following options:

  1. Refund: We will refund the full amount paid.
  2. Replacement: We will provide a replacement for the faulty product.
  3. Repair: We will repair the product at our discretion.

Extended Quality Guarantee: For certain product ranges, we offer an extended quality guarantee beyond the initial 6-month period. The extended guarantee periods are as follows:

  • Classic Range: 5 years
  • Premier Range: 5 years
  • Universal Range: 5 years
  • Coral Range: 5 years
  • Arctic Range: 12 years
  • Nordic Range: 12 years
  • Synergy Range: 10 years
  • Range of Bathroom Essentials: 5 years
  • Range of Kitchen Essentials: 5 years

OUT OF GUARANTEE REPAIRS

For repairs required outside the guarantee period, we provide the following service:

  • All repairs are conducted at the manufacturer's premises.
  • You will need to pre-authorise quotes for repairs or replacements, and there will be no charge for the quotation.
  • Repaired goods come with a 3-month guarantee on workmanship quality.

RETURNS PROCEDURE

To ensure a smooth and efficient returns process, please follow these steps:

  1. Contact us via email or phone before returning the product to discuss the best way to proceed.
  2. Include the original receipt or invoice with the returned product, indicating the product and purchase date.
  3. Faulty items returned and booked in will have a minimum turnaround time of 72 hours for repair or replacement, subject to stock availability. Any repair time given is an estimate and may not be binding.
  4. If customers do not respond to a request to collect repair orders or fail to make payment for replacement or quotation repaired items within 90 days from the date of request, Steelcraft reserves the right to destroy or recycle the product(s) to cover storage costs without incurring any liability.

EXCLUSIONS

The following events may prevent a product from being accepted for return, guarantee repair, or replacement:

  • Wilful damage to the product
  • Misuse or abuse of the product
  • Unauthorised repair or tampering with the product
  • Products returned for full credit within 30 days without defects, but not in their original packaging
  • Incomplete or missing parts in returned products
  • Products showing signs of physical damage, improper use, or handling
  • Products exposed to fire
  • Accidental damage to goods
  • Goods used for a purpose other than their intended use 

SHIPPING

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are nonrefundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
